Waris Shah was a Punjabi sufi poet who was born in Jandiala Sher Khan (present day Pakistan) in 1722. He is counted among legendry Punjabi poets other being Bulleh Shah , Shah Muhammad , Hashim Shah, Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Surjeet Patar, Baba Nazmi, Pash etc
